From the district offices headquartered in the historic Fisher Building in midtown Detroit, to the main office at the newly built Martin Lutrher King, Jr. Senior Hiigh School located in downtown Detroit, there are administrators all over looking out for the bands' best interests.  Here is a snapshot of the people making the bands' dreams come true.

IThe best laid plans have details, details, details. Bands and Orchestras have more members in them than the average athletic or military group combined sometimes. Mr. Fitz is the go to person for making sure that our details are addressed and needs met so that we serve the students in excellence and they can show the world their performance best.

Dr. Deborah Jenkins
Principal
Martin Luther King, Jr. Senior High School

Dr. Deborah Jenkins is the Instructional Leader of the MLK H.S and an important part of the community surrounding Martin Luther King. The status of the school brings much attention to the value of the environment. Therefore her leadership has much to do with the entire downtown Detroit area. She is a great supporter of the arts and we value her presence.

Sean PattonPresident
District 16 Michigan Shcool Band& Orchestra Association
Director of Bands, Duke Ellington Middle School of Fine Arts

The MSBOA is the organization used to adjudicate students based on standards met in the instrumental music education world. Solo & Ensemble Festival shows the talent and skills of individuals and small groups of students, while the Large Group Festival is the place to exhibit skills students have worked on for an entire year. THESE represent our 'standardized tests' if you will. Directors share responsibility for working together and help students across the state give their best. Mr. Patton helps to facilitate those efforts in our local area.
